Determining height

When heights are calculated using the percentage scale the distance from the object to the level are presumed to be measured horizontally.

The diagrams below have the distance set at 62 feet, if the distance was measured along the ground in either case an error would occur. The error is fairly insignificant but does increase as the angle of slope increases.





Changing buckets

Changing buckets is far easier these days thanks to the quick change bucket harness. Most rubber tired machines and excavators come equipped with one. They consist of a bar and usually two bolts to hold the bar in place.
